At the Edmonton Holistic Veterinary Clinic (EHVC), we provide integrative medicine to our clients and their pets. Striving to work collaboratively with our clients, with clear and effective communication to ensure the best possible care for your pets, we provide expertise and obtain a “whole pet view” of our patients.
We offer a slower pace in our clinic which fosters a calm and clear atmosphere. Our talented staff are trained in taking a gentle and compassionate approach with your pets to minimize the fear and anxiety that can sometimes come with a veterinary visit.
We welcome all new patients and invite you to bring your pet in for a visit! Or stop by for some treats and snuggles which are readily available at our front desk!
Our clients come from all socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds. All of them have deep relationships with their animal family members and truly wish to provide the best care possible. We work with families that seek us out because they would like to provide the kind of natural health solutions and preventive lifestyle care that they choose for themselves. We also work with people who are most confident with a solidly conventional approach but want a team with whom they can clearly communicate and collaborate.
We respect and honour all viewpoints, and actively work to support you as you navigate caregiving through challenges and easy times alike.
A veterinary experience like no other, my two dogs felt at ease right from when we walked in the door not to mention myself. Intuitive Doctor and staff are very knowledgeable in western and eastern medicine for the best possible care for your family members. Highly recommend to see for yourself!
Best service (from docs and reception), pricing, information, advice I've seen or experienced. Anywhere. Ever. Not all about the money, actually about providing best possible care for your animals. Have also seen multiple docs* in the clinic and always get in within a reasonable timeline. Flipping love these guys.
Dr. Marshall graduated from the Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2004 and developed an interest in Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine during a university trip to China. After a few years in a busy conventional practice in the US, she completed her acupuncture training and joined the team at the Edmonton Holistic Veterinary Clinic in 2008. Dr. Marshall believes deeply in the importance of the human-animal bond and continuous learning to elevate the quality of veterinary practice. She has now obtained a certification in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care and looks forward to developing a network of support for these patients and their human caregivers. She loves Edmonton and has always been a prairie girl at heart.

Dr Charlene joined our practice in 2018. She is trained in Veterinary Acupuncture, Tui-Na, Food Therapy, and Herbology from Chi Institute in Reddick, Florida. Charlene loves animals of all kinds. She currently lives in Mayerthorpe, Alberta with her husband, son, and daughter. They all share in caring for the numerous and well-loved critters on the farm. These include horses, dogs, cats, a parrot, two reptiles, and a pond full of large goldfish! A passion for getting to the root of a patient’s health issues is what led her to the integrative medicine style of practice here at the Edmonton Holistic Veterinary Clinic. She is a warm and welcoming person who would love to meet you and your pet!
Dr. Matéa is from northern Ontario and graduated from the University of Guelph’s Ontario Veterinary College in 2021. State University in 2003. She obtained her Master’s in Veterinary Sciences at the University of Calgary in 2013, and in 2018 she completed the long arduous veterinarian licensing process to practice in North America.
Before coming to Canada, she worked as a veterinarian in jaguar conservation projects in the Brazilian Amazon, Pantanal, and Cerrado regions. Although she enjoyed the adventure, her passion for learning brought her to the Canadian prairies.
After obtaining her Master’s degree, she moved to Edmonton, where she worked at several other busy veterinary practices, until she joined the team at Edmonton Holistic Vet Clinic in August 2022.
As a ’conventional medicine’ practitioner, Dr. Kashivakura always wished she could do more to keep her patients comfortable, especially those in compassionate care. She became certified in Animal Hospice and Palliative Care in 2021 and fascinated to learn more about holistic medicine.
She is currently enrolled to get certified in Veterinary Acupuncture at Chi University and proud to be part of this amazing caring team at the Edmonton Holistic Vet Clinic.
